My sister, Nicola, lost a very close friend this week. Ci was born with Cystic Fibrosis, although it's the last thing you knew about her because she lived such an inspiring life; she died at twenty-one. I don't have words to express what an incredible person Ci was, or how much her spirit affected everyone she met, but my sister wrote a really beautiful essay about her which you can read here.
My sister, as I've mentioned before, is a professional wakeboarder. Working with her sponsors and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, she has set up a raffle for Ci. A minimum donation of $10 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Orlando can win you a customized package of really great stuff (the winner is picked on March 17). Even if you have no interest in winning anything, it would be wonderful if you could donate whatever you can in memory of a really, just, astonishing person who lost her life to an unfair lung disease. Donate here so that you will be entered in the raffle. Thank you.
Wonderful young girl, never heard her complain about her illness and as you say, you would never even have thought she was ill. She had so much energy and huge enthusiasm for everything she did. A real little sunflower. Shall be missed but not forgotten. xx
